There’s lots of talk about eating at least 5 portions of fruit and vegetables a day but do you really know what ‘a portion’ is? The 5 a day guidelines are very detailed but some portions might be more than you can stomach!
  • 5-6 passion fruits
  • 1 handful gooseberries – try not to pull a funny face!
  • 8 spring onions – get your mints out!

We’ve put together out own rough guidelines to help you stay healthy even with your busy lifestyle.

Fruit
  A medium glass of 100% fruit juice
A medium glass of fruit ‘smoothie’
A medium-size piece of fruit
1/2 cup of cut-up fruit
1 handful of fruit
1/4 cup of dried fruit
3 heaped tablespoons of tinned fruit
2 heaped tablespoons of fruit puree

Vegetables
  A medium glass of 100% vegetable juice
1 handful of salad items
1 handful of greens or salad greens
1 handful of raw vegetables
3 heaped tablespoons of cooked vegetables
3/4 cup of cut-up vegetables
1 heaped tablespoon of puree
